Hatched one from a 10 km egg that I got from the Adler Planetarium in downtown Chicago, IL. Mine has Bite and Iron Head but it had 1220 CP got an IV score of 83% and one of its best attributes was attack. Now that Aerodactyl's attack power was buffed with the new CP update, I knew that he was worth holding onto.

I just found out that my Aerodactyl actually has 91% IV's (14/13/14), not 83% as I had initially believed.
I managed to catch an Aerodactyl with 96% IV's in Hodgkins, IL (14/14/15), with Bite/Hyper Beam as well. Life can be pretty cool sometimes.
Just hatched another 91% IV Aerodactyl (14/13/14) from a 10 km egg the other day, with 1471 CP and Steel Wing/Hyper Beam moveset. From what I was reading Anonymous, Steel Wing/Hyper Beam and Steel Wing/Ancient Power are the two best gym defender movesets, so ultimately it's your call. As for me, I'm powering mine up.

Vaporeon smashes Aerodactyl with Hydro Pump. It resists Steel Wing too. It doesn't have great CP either. Are you crazy to use it as a defender?

I caught my first Aerodactyl Today for the end of the rock event. Only 108 CP with steel wing and iron head but still awesome. I caught it near a lake/park in a suburban area in Perth, W.A.
I got a cp1853 one back on Monday during the rock event.
Saw the shadow and thought too good to be true. Initially had trouble getting it to show on screen, but after twice going to the Starbucks pokestop in the middle of a mall and switching from my tablet (which I was using) to my phone I got it to appear. Being level 26 (seeing red circles) and only having razz, I initially thought the game was torturing me with something I could not catch. Amazingly first catch between great throw+razz+ultra.
Mine has steel wing and ancient power appraised "really strong/attack/really strong" by gym TL.
Now back to cp110 weedles breaking free lol. If it wasn't for a week like this, game's xp system would probably be too annoying!
