Pokedex Entry #219: Magcargo is a Fire/Rock Type Pokemon. It evolves from Slugma.
Magcargo's shell is actually its skin that hardened as a result of cooling. Its shell is very brittle and fragile - just touching it causes it to crumble apart. This Pokémon returns to its original size by dipping itself in magma.

1288 CP, 5000 dust, 84 HP ... Rock throw 12, Heat Wave 95. Real good IVs and almost maxed out so.. low CP
my first 3 "best" ones all have the bottom 3 worst possible sets.
cp851 female rock throw/heat wave : 85.53% gym offense
cp862 female ember/stone edge : 81.88% gym offense
cp1305 female ember/heat wave : 77.24% gym offense
the gut blow is that the cp1305 one is lv.30, with the better IVs of the 3, and with the worst possible moveset of the species. might as well use it as a throwaway fire type.
with moves lacking secondary effects to set them apart, heat wave is a joke compared to overheat.
but magcargo has the competitive merit of a ham sandwich anyway, in both GO and the main games.
